THE CONTEST INCLUDES THREE CATEGORIES:

1) translations of Brazilian literary texts to Spanish

2) translations of literary texts from Hispanic America to Portuguese

3) recreations of literary texts from either Brazil or Hispanic America.

One winner will be selected for each category. 

1) TRANSLATION:

Translations of literary texts will be judged for accuracy and creativity, and for the degree of difficulty presented by the original source text. Source texts can be drawn from any literary genre (poetry, novel, short story, essay, chronicle, etc.).

2) RECREATION

Recreations are based on a passage or verbal image drawn from a literary text. By “verbal image” we mean any verse, phrase, group of verses, or group of phrases that together make up an image.

Recreations will be judged for vision and creativity, and for the degree to which the recreation speaks to the original passage or verbal image.

Possible recreations from literary texts include: paintings, drawings, photographs, photo esssays, sculptures, short films, multimedia works, etc.
